The wind blows constantly through the terraces. Even in broad sunlight, the air remains cool and fresh. Another distinguishing feature is the soil; not primary rock, but lime silicate marble.

Due to the high lime content in the soil, Steinriegel wines appear mineral and extremely sensitive. They have a precisely defined mineral content, clear as a mountain brook.

The wine is characterised by its fresh aroma of mountain herbs and the ancient grape selections evoke a subtle violet odour which supports the delicacy and precision of the wine.
