Loibenberg

Bare primary rock is met by a particularly mild climate; there are no trenches or side valleys. This is the ideal ground for two incomparable wines of Tegernseerhof.

The Riesling grapes grow on the topmost stone terraces. This allows us to leave them on the vine to develop a subtle fruit and a fine flavour.

The Grüner Veltliner grapes grow a little lower on the hill where there is more loess. This lends a litheness and smoky character to the wine. Both wines have a fine structure, a lingering aftertaste, and an enormous potential to age well. This is partly due to the use of our own choice vines, a Tegernseerhof practice for centuries.
